I always have my small camera with me but this has its limitations and the same holds for my phone.
So overall some pictures to show the feeling of the stay but not great pictures.
For all my Indian friends it was on the cold side looking at temperatures. -17 C during the night was hit on one or two nights. Day time was around -5 C.
Was a nice change to the daily winter temperatures in Bangalore, which for me still feel like a beautiful spring time with minimum temperatures of 12 C.
Journey went well until we had landed. The first time in my travel history that we were parked at the end of the runway as there were no gates available for parking.
So I had already a return trip as we could not land due to fog, means that landing at a spot that is not expected is left. Just let me know if I miss other opportunities, leaving out all variations of departure and arriving.
Reason for not going to the gate was that most of the planes didn't want to leave. Last Sunday a nice snow storm passed Chicago with a result of approx. 1300 cancelled flights. Happy that we at least landed we were waiting and waiting. Captain gave according the US laws a nice update every 30 minutes. Which in most of the cases was something like.
No planes have left, meaning we are still third in row for a gate. No idea when we will arrive at the gate and we are constantly busy to get a gate (as we also want to leave as soon as possible).
Slowly we moved up to first in the row and after 4 hours we were at the gate and could stretch our legs. Luckily there were no kids or very few that I didn't hear, as I would have been horrible for the parents to keep them busy.
11.30 hours time difference and 24 hours traveling with lots of dozing of doesn't leave much sleep.
And from inside the snow looks great.
Walking to the office was a pleasant time, with a little bit of challenge as the sidewalks were not cleared, meaning several places walk on the street. And one stretch walking through the fresh snow the first day and the rest follow my footsteps.
Some more photos to get an impression and get cold.
