So why Siddara Betta as title as this is not a typo. It seems that places have different names depending who you talk to or where you find the name.
Siddera Betta is the name I found in the app that I use for many of my day trips. An app that gives interesting places around Bangalore up to 180> km. Looking it up on the internet the place is called Siddara Beta. And than off course you will have the local Kannada name.
Well for Leon and me it was just a nice place to go to for the day, experience Kannada, get some exercise and meet people.
Arriving at the spot where the GPS (either google maps or the car) says you reached your destination we are looking around to see where the walk starts. Some local people at a chai shop show the way although they first thought that we wanted to go to Madhugiri which was 11km further down the road. We got the right instructions, which was go 500 m down the road opposite the shop.
The temple was inside the rocks, with a lot of water. The priest told me not to take pictures of the statues so also those are out this time. But could take one from people that just before had their shower as a main was helping with throwing water over your head using a small container. Took some time before I did but afterwards was very happy that I had taken it as it was very refreshing.
Leon was able to create a new Facebook photo for me as I wanted to replace the Carnaval picture for something more recent.
Next to that we got the message that we could go up the hill for a nice look around. So going up between the rocks and looking for the "path" which in the end was quite clear but also sometimes very narrow. At one place even took of my bag pack to make it easy.
And then after a walk slowly going up we came to the top with a very old fort (or at least the remainders) looking over the area around the mountain.
Back to Bangalore where we had a late lunch in Orion Mall.
Overall a nice day.
